Solar
A solar PV system produces electrical energy using light from the sun. The solar panels use daylight to produce electricity, they do not need direct sunlight or heat and so a solar installation will still work on a cloudy or overcast day.
The process in producing and benefitting from solar produced electricity is a simple one and applies no matter how large or small the solar PV installation:
- From the moment day breaks whether its summer or winter the daylight will start the process of generating clean, green electricity.
- The electricity produced from the solar PV system is fed into the buildings electrical installation and is used in favour of the energy bought from the electricity supplier.
- The amount of electricity produced is monitored by a generation meter enabling the building occupier to A) claim the lucrative Feed in Tariff and B) sell any unused electricity back to their electricity supplier. Couple A & B with the savings made from having to buy less electricity means the building occupier and the environment benefit in a win win situation.
